Bad Credit, No Money Down, In Need of a Car Loan. Who Will Take Me?

You may not be at a very good place right now. The economy may have taken an unfavorable turn for you as it has for many with the dawn of a recession. You have a job, but it isn’t exactly next door and with the commute, it’s like you’re earning for the commute to work and barely earning for your needs. You have bad credit and no money for a down payment. Does this mean you should kiss your dream of getting that car you need goodbye, letting the depressing cycle of living to work instead of working to live perpetuate? There is still hope. You won’t have as easy a time as someone with money for down despite having bad credit, let alone someone with good credit, but know that getting a car loan is possible.

Could It Be? What’s the catch?

No money down auto loans are exactly what they sound like, you’ve got it right, you’re not dreaming. It really is a car loan that doesn’t require down payments. Odds of getting approved of despite the bad credit score are slim and this particular kind of loan is commonly geared for those who have superb credit ratings.

What Can I Do?

This is where co-signers come in. If you can manage to find someone to act as a co-signer for you, then you may just be saved.  A co-signer is someone with a good credit history who would be willing and would promise to back you up with the loan. His or her higher income or stronger credit may help you snag the loan you want. The co-signer would take legal responsibility when you default your loan. He or she would vouch for your loan and assure the lender that the loan will be paid as it was agreed upon. Because of the co-signer’s good standing In terms of income and credit, the lender would be more confident that the loan would be paid off.

Co-Signer Hunting

When looking for a co-signer, you would need someone who would give concern for your cause. Now everyone would want to be a co-signer though because of the risks that comes with your situation and may not afford to take it. You can either turn to family, friends or someone who has faith in your capability to pay the loan if you could just get it.

After Approval

You would be very lucky to find a co-signer and have your loan approved. With this blessing, you need to do your part since the co-signer is taking a great risk with you – don’t let him or her down. With failure to pay the loan agreed upon, not only would your credit suffer even more, but so would your co-signer’s.

So you see, getting a car with bad credit and no down payment is possible, it just takes a little luck and a lot of work. When you do get the loan, do your part and be responsible. Do not jeopardize your co-signer, without your co-signer, you may not be able to get the loan you want or need.
